Limited access to this private, members only club is only available to those with lodging reservations at either The American Club® or Inn on Woodlake with a purchased entry pass. River Wildlife is not open to the public. Advance reservations are required for dining and activities. Please contact River Wildlife at 920-457-0134 with any questions or to assist you with making reservations.

 

The River Wildlife wilderness preserve is maintained in a natural state to preserve native vegetation and wildlife. Many miles of woodland trails and the meandering Sheboygan River provide abundant opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.

 

 

 

Tactical Pistol & Rifle Course (Year-Round)

This activity can be tailored to fit groups up to 10 people, can focus on pistols, rifles or for the best experience, a combination of the two. Shooters engage static & dynamic steel targets from 10- 200+ yards when combining pistols & rifles into the same course. Lodging reservations at The American Club or Inn on Woodlake are required for non-members prior to making reservations for the tactical pistol & rifle course. Reservations are required and are available from 8am-3pm daily.

Canoe/Kayak Rentals (May-August)

Enjoy an exhilarating adventure paddling the Sheboygan River in one of our two-person canoes or single-person kayaks. River Wildlife personnel will transport you to the launch site to start your journey. This trip takes about 2 hours and requires average physical stamina. Lodging reservations at The American Club or Inn on Woodlake are required for non-members prior to making reservations for canoeing or kayaking. Not intended for young children. Reservations available from 8am–1pm daily.

Pheasant Hunting (Mid-September–Early Spring, weather permitting)

One of the Midwest’s premier shooting clubs offers pheasant hunting in a variety of terrains. Our three hunt fields are planted with native prairie grasses and annual cover crops. Situated along the river and woods, they provide a challenging workout for both hunters and their dogs. All hunters must be experienced. Expert guides, dogs and equipment are available. Lodging reservations at The American Club or Inn on Woodlake are required for non-members as well as the purchase of a hunting pass prior to making reservations. Reservations available at 9am or 1pm daily.

Self-Guided Hiking (Year-round)

Miles of winding trails of varied terrain are maintained in a natural state for the preservation of native vegetation. Maps of the trails are provided. Lodging reservations at The American Club or Inn on Woodlake are required for non-members as well as the purchase of an entry pass for access to the trail system.

Self-Guided River Fishing

Some of the best fishing in the state is available in the fall and spring as trout and salmon make their way upstream on the Sheboygan River. Anglers must provide their own fishing gear and applicable licenses. Maps of the property are available at the resorts front desk areas or at River Wildlife Lodge. Lodging reservations at The American Club or Inn on Woodlake are required for non-members as well as the purchase of an entry pass for access to the river.

Self-Guided Cross-Country Skiing (Weather-permitting)

Head off on miles of trails winding through woodlands and meadows. Lodging reservations at The American Club or Inn on Woodlake are required for non-members as well as the purchase of an entry pass for access to the trail system. Rental equipment is not available for cross country skiing at River Wildlife.

Self-Guided Snowshoeing (Weather-permitting)

Experience the outdoors in winter on trails located at the Sports Core or River Wildlife. Snowshoe rental is available at the Sports Core; limited availability. Lodging reservations at The American Club or Inn on Woodlake, as well as the purchase of an entry pass, are required for access to River Wildlife’s trail system. Snowshoe rental equipment is not available at River Wildlife.

Cancellations of reservations must be received 24 hours in advance to avoid penalty. Activities are subject to change and cancellation due to weather conditions.
